COLUMBIA (WACH) -- A HOT day is on tap for the Midlands.
A ridge of high pressure is allowing for daytime high temperatures to exceed 100 degrees today across the Midlands.
If reaching 101 in Columbia is not enough, try adding in the humidity.
Heat index values are expected to top out between 105-109 degrees. Limiting outdoor activity is highly suggested in this type of weather.
The best time to do outdoor activities and projects is before 10 a.m. and after 3 p.m.
If you do have to venture out into the heat, be sure to drink plenty of clear liquids and wear light colored loose fit clothing.
There is only a 20% chance of a pop-up shower or thunderstorm Thursday.
