COLUMBIA (WACH) - The Kershaw County Sheriff's office is seeking a suspect in connection with a series of car break-ins happening in different areas of the county.

According to Kershaw County Sheriff Jim Matthews, deputies arrested two men in connection with the thefts of six vehicles and 25 auto break-ins in the Camden, Cassatt and Kershaw areas of Kershaw County.

Shawn Michael Cave,19 and Rick Thomas Kennedy Jr., 17, have been arrested and Jonathan David Bradley, 20, is being sought in these thefts and break-ins.

Matthews says Kershaw County investigators recovered all of the stolen vehicles. In each automobile theft the owner left the keys in the vehicle.

Investigators are currently trying to locate personal property that was taken during the break-ins. Interviews of the suspects indicated that the property was traded for drugs or sold outright.

Matthews said that investigators believe that Cave, Kennedy and Bradley entered other vehicles, but because the owners had removed items of value, nothing was stolen and those owners did not report the incident to law enforcement.

If convicted on these charges, each of these individuals face up to 75 years in prison. Of the three individuals, Bradley is the only suspect with a criminal record with arrests for simple possession of marijuana and criminal domestic violence. Cave and Kennedy are being detained at the Kershaw County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
