CHAPIN, SC (WACH) - A man is dead after being hit by a pickup truck near Chapin.
According to the Highway Patrol, Jimmy M. Caughman, 57, of Little Mountain, SC, stepped in front of a pickup truck as he was walking on Westwoods Drive near Rocky Branch Road.
Authorities say Caughman was wearing dark clothes and walking east along Westwoods Drive when he was struck from behind by a truck moving in the same direction.
Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harmon said the incident is still under investigation by the Coroner's Office and the Highway Patrol.
There is no word on whether charges will be filed.
