Camden, SC (WACH)--A special World War II veteran was in Camden to share his experiences through his new book.

William Meller was at Books on Broad, located on Broad Street in Camden, to sign copies of his book Bloody Roads to Germany. The book chronicles the veteran's time with the 28th Division. It describes his courageous story at Huertgen Forest and the Battle of the Bulge.

In addition, Ross Beard, and expert gun collector, showcased several of his WWII weapons that he has collected.

Store Co-Owner Bill Funderburke said it is important to remember veterans like Meller.

"We are losing all of our veterans from the second world war daily," Funderburke said. Mr.. Meller has been instrumental in preserving his memories. That is why he and his book and these events are so important."

The book is available to purchase at Books on Broad. To learn more, contact the store at 803-713-7323
