Police found 33-year-old Mario Carrbarus Scott shot to death early Sunday morning.  / Sumter Police Dept.

SUMTER, S.C. (WACH) -- One man is dead after a shooting just after midnight Sunday morning.

Police arriving at the intersection of Dingle and Wright Streets found 33-year-old Mario Carrbarus Scott dead on the side of the roadway. Scott had gunshot wounds to the chest and back.

Police have not found a suspect. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and piecing together information surrounding the shooting.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Sumter Police Dept. at (803) 436-2717 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Tipsters can remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward.
