COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH)-- Tropical Storm Debby is in no hurry to leave the Gulf of Mexico.
The National Hurricane Center's 11 p.m. advisory on Sunday puts the center of circulation 110 miles SSW of Apalachicola, Florida with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph and a minimum central pressure of 991 millibars.
The storm remains stationary as of 11 p.m. Sunday.
Tropical Storm Debby is forecasted to meander around just south of the northern Florida pennisula over the next few days and into the middle of the week.
This could allow for some additional strengthening while Debby is over the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico.
However, Tropical Storm Debby is forecast to remain below hurricane strength.
The official forecast track from the National Hurricane Center shows the center of Debby making landfall Thursday in northern Florida.
The Midlands could start being impacted by Tropical Storm Debby midweek with the current forecast track.
