A South Carolina board will consider posthumously pardoning two great-uncles of syndicated radio host Tom Joyner. Farmers Thomas and Meeks Griffin were executed in 1915 for the murder of a 73-year-old Confederate Army veteran in Chester County.
The 140th South Carolina State Fair is opening a 12-day run in Columbia with loads of exhibits, rides, concerts and -- of course -- food. Gates open at 3 p.m. Wednesday with $1 admission.
