Once again conditions will rise back into dangerous territory for the Midlands. High temperatures in the upper 90s combined with dewpoints in the 70s will make a dangerous heat and humidity cocktail for the human body. Heat Index Values, or 'feels like temperatures,' above 105 degrees are hazardous to the human body.

Highs will be cooler, but humidity will keep heat indices in the triple digits. Northerly winds will help keep highs in the mid 90s, but humidity will still be high so heat indices will climb to around 105 degrees today.

Another day of dangerous heat in much of South Carolina. Monday temperatures in Columbia topped out at 101 degrees. The SkyWACH weather team is forecasting the same for Tuesday. The heat index is expected to range from 105 to 110.
