Columbia, S.C. – Frank Martin is representing the University of South Carolina Thursday at the Southeastern Conference Basketeball Media Day.

The Gamecock mens’ basketball team is picked to finish last in the SEC East in the first year of the Frank Martin era.

The former Kansas State coach was brought in to Columbia after former coach Darrin Horn was fired following a 10-21 season last year.  The Gamecocks are predicted to finish 13th overall in the newly revamped 14-team Southeastern Conference.

While the fanbase was energized by the hiring of the fiery Martin, the coach himself has been much more low-key in managing expectations for his team.

USC will have three seniors on the roster, but, only one, Lakeem Jackson, has seen significant playing time at South Carolina averaging 3.2 ppg and 2.7 rpg during his junior season.  Jackson is joined by fellow seniors LaShay Page, a transfer from Southern Mississippi who has yet to play for USC, and Shane Phillips, who played in only one game as a junior

USC tips off the season November 11 against UW-Milwaukee at the Colonial Life Arena.

WACH Fox will have the SEC Media Day interviews online from the SEC Digital Network Thursday afternoon. Be sure to visit our Gamecock Video Zone.
