COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Dutch Fork claimed its first girls high school basketball state championship with a 61-29 victory over Orangeburg-Wilkinson Friday night at Colonial Life Arena.

Donnesha Shuler scored 24 points, Rose Robinson added 10 and Alaina Coates added 11 rebounds and five blocks for the Silver Foxes (26-3).

Dutch Fork led 18-4 after one quarter. The Bruins pulled within eight points in the second quarter but Shuler scored four points in a 9-2 run to end the half that pushed the lead to 29-14 at halftime. The lead remained double-digits the rest of the way.

Dutch Fork was making its fourth appearance in the title game, but they came up short in 2002, 2003 and 2005. Faye Norris, in her fourth year coaching at Dutch Fork, won her first state title as well.

Vondria Ritter led the Bruins (17-6) with 12 points. Orangeburg-Wilkinson last won a state championship in 2002.
