COLUMBIA (WACH) -- The polls are out and the Gamecocks are holding steady in 12th place.

Both the Associated Press and the USA Today Coaches' poll were released Tuesday putting the USC football team just outside the top ten.

Oklahoma ranks at the top of the list followed by LSU and Alabama.

The gamecocks rallied to beat East Carolina in non-conference play Saturday with a 56-37 win.

Garcia sat the first quarter as South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier started sophomore Connor Shaw. But the Gamecocks fumbled three times, including one by Shaw, and trailed 17-0 before Garcia entered the game.

USC plays at Georgia this Saturday in its first conference game.

Head Coach Steve Spurrier says he is not paying much attention to the hype.

"We don't look at being favored.  We're trying to play the game better than last week," Spurrier stated.

"I hope all of our players realize Georgia is in our division," he added.

Some are saying if the Gamecocks lose this week, it'll dampen any hopes of playing in the SEC championship game.  Read more here.
