COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Both Stephen Garcia and Connor Shaw will play for South Carolina in Saturday night's season opener in Charlotte against East Carolina.

Head coach Steve Spurrier announced the news Tuesday during his weekly news conference.  He said the starting quarterback will be announced later in the week.

Spurrier also announced backup quarterback Andrew Clifford will be out a few weeks after he sustained a concussion from falling off his moped.

The Gamecocks and Pirates play in Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
