COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier says the 18th-ranked Gamecocks have plenty to play for this week, even if Saturday's result against No. 17 Arkansas won't change a thing in the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division chase.
Spurrier says South Carolina (6-2, 4-2 SEC) set a preseason goal of going undefeated at home, something that's still attainable with the Razorbacks (6-2, 3-2) headed to Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday.
Spurrier hopes that focus keeps his players locked into Arkansas and not peeking ahead to next week's potential showdown at The Swamp with Florida for the East's title-game spot.
There's a chance South Carolina could clinch the division Saturday with a win and the Gators losing at Vanderbilt.
