Panther WR Smith hurts left ankle

NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Carolina Panthers star receiver Steve Smith hobbled off the field with a left ankle injury during the third quarter against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
Panthers officials said Smith was questionable to return.
Smith had only two catches for 11 yards before he went to the sideline with the Panthers in the lead, 14-13.
