COLUMBIA (WACH) -- Preseason predictions place the USC Gamecocks to finish third in the SEC Eastern Division.

Media attending the SEC Media Days also picked Cliff Matthews and Stephon Gilmore as first-team selections.

Finishing just above USC was Georgia and Florida.

Matthews, a 6'4" 260 pound senior defensive end from Cheraw was was picked second-team in 2009.

Gilmore, a 6'1", 188 pounds sophomore cornerback from Rock Hill earned Freshman All-American honors last season after starting every game.

Gamecocks start fall camp on August 2.  The team's first practice is scheduled for the following day.
