COLUMBIA (WACH)- With the season-ending knee injury to All-American candidate running back Marcus Lattimore, Kenny Miles returns to his familiar role as "next man up."

The fifth-year senior out of Snellville, Georgia will replace Lattimore as the Gamecocks starting tailback.  Miles has ran for 149 yards on 42 carries this season.

"Kenny is ready to go," Steve Spurrier said Tuesday at his weekly press conference.  "He's played well for us here, including special teams."

In 2011, Miles started for the Gamecocks in the Capital One Bowl game against Nebraska where he had 15 carries for 67 yards and touchdown, while also catching two passes for 13 yards and another score.

Miles biggest year came during his redshirt freshman season in 2009 when he led the Gamecocks in rushing with 626 yards, including eclipsing the 100 yard mark in a win over Clemson.

The Gamecocks (7-2, 5-2 SEC) will host Arkansas Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.  Kickoff is slated for 12:00 P.M. and will be televised on CBS.
