Run game crucial for Gamecocks against Georgia

COLUMBIA (WACH)- The No. 6 Gamecocks host the fifth-ranked Georgia Bulldogs Saturday night at Williams-Brice Stadium.

USC has won the last two meetings against the Bulldogs behind standout performances from junior running back Marcus Lattimore.  Lattimore has rushed for 358 yards and three touchdowns in two games against UGA.

Steve Spurrier discussed the imporantance of USC's run game at his weekly press conference Tuesday.

"We realize that we've got to run the ball," Spurrier said.  "That's our best formula."

The Gamecocks are averaging 171.8 yards per game, but the Bulldogs are having their own success rushing.  Georgia is averaging 250 yards on the ground.

Kickoff is set for 7 P.M. and will be televised on ESPN.
