BLYTHEWOOD, SC - Steve Spurrier says his 2012 Gamecocks should be able to compete with any team on their schedule.

The South Carolina head ball coach, beginning his 8th season in Columbia, made the comments Thursday at his annual media golf tournament at the Cobblestone Park Golf Club in Blythewood.

Spurrier also said running backs Marcus Lattimore and Shon Carson, coming off serious knee injuries, should be 100 percent by the season opener at Vanderbilt.

The highlight of the golf tournament was a hole-in-one by defensive coordinator Lorenzo Ward.
