COLUMBIA (WACH) South Carolina men's basketball redshirt-sophomore forward Carlton Geathers has sustained a right knee cap fracture, which will require surgery, and is expected to be out of practice and game action for a minimum of six months, first-year head coach Frank Martin announced on Monday. Geathers suffered the injury in a summer pro-am league game in Columbia on July 19.

Geathers played in 28 games with one start during his redshirt-freshman campaign of 2011-12. He is a native of Georgetown, S.C.
