HOOVER, AL - Mike Yastrzemski drove in the go-ahead run with a squeeze bunt in the top of the 8th inning, leading Vanderbilt to a 3-2 win over South Carolina Wednesday night in the SEC Tournament.
Vince Conde led off the 8th inning with a double off Gamecock pitcher Tyler Webb. He was sacrificed to third, setting up Yastrzemski's winning play.
Carolina took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the 2nd inning thanks to a two-run single by Tanner English. Vandy countered with single runs in the 5th and 6th innings before getting the winner in the 8th.
The Gamecocks play Auburn Thursday at 5:30 p.m. in an elimination game.
