CLEMSON - Clemson scored nine runs in the first four innings and held on to defeat top-ranked Florida State 9-7 in the first game of a doubleheader Monday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.  The Seminoles won the nightcap 9-5 behind a 4-for-4, 3 RBI performance by Sherman Johnson.

The Tigers, who won the series 2-1, are now 31-21 overall and 16-11 in ACC play.

In the opener, Tiger starter Kevin Pohle (6-2) earned the win by tossing six strong innings.  He gave up six hits, three runs (one earned), and one walk.  Scott Firth pitched the final 2 2/3 innings with three strikeouts to record his second save of the season.

Brad Felder led Clemson’s nine-hit performance by going 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run, while Spencer Kieboom totaled a team-high two RBI.  Clemson also rang up a season-high five stolen bases.
