COLUMBIA - Evan Marzilli belted a three-run homer and tied a career-high with four RBI and four USC pitchers combined to shut out Furman in a 7-0 win Wednesday night at Carolina Stadium.  The Gamecocks improve to 37-12 on the year while Furman drops to 22-26 for the season.

Starting pitcher Joel Seddon earned the win and is now 2-0 on the year. He allowed two hits with one walk while tying a career-high with four strikeouts. Seddon, Nolan Belcher, Patrick Sullivan and Logan Munson combined for a four-hit shutout.

South Carolina returns to action this weekend with a three game series at Georgia. First pitch for the opener on Friday will be at 7 p.m. Saturday’s game is at 1 p.m. with Sunday’s game scheduled at 2 p.m.
