GAINESVILLE (AP) -- Florida hit a season-high five home runs, including a three-run shot by Preston Tucker in the seventh inning that put the Gators ahead, to beat Mississippi State 8-6 on Sunday to advance to the College World Series.

Mississippi State's Nick Vickerson drove in four runs on a three-run home run and an RBI single, which was part of a three-run seventh inning that put the Bulldogs (38-25) ahead 6-4.

After a pair of walks and a sacrifice bunt, Tucker hit a 3-1 pitch over the fence in center field to give the Gators (50-17) a 7-6 lead.

Daniel Pigott hit two homers, a two-run shot in the second inning and a solo homer in the eighth. Mike Zunino and Vikash Ramjit also hit solo home runs for the Gators.
