Six Tigers Picked in Major League Draft

Clemson, SC - Six Tigers were taken in the 2011 Major League draft on Tuesday.  

Two Tigers were chosen in the second round.  

Junior shortstop Brad Miller (Windermere, FL), the 2011 ACC Player-of-the-Year, was a second-round draft selection (#62 overall pick) of the Seattle Mariners.  Junior utility player Will Lamb (Seaford, VA), a Second-Team All-ACC selection in 2011, was also a second-round draft pick (#83 overall pick) of the Texas Rangers.

Four other Tigers were drafted on Tuesday.  Junior infielder John Hinson (Asheville, NC) was a 13th-round draft selection (#400 overall pick) of the Houston Astros.  Senior outfielder Jeff Schaus (Naples, FL), a Second-Team All-ACC selection in 2011, was a 16th-round draft pick (#494 overall pick) of the Los Angeles Dodgers.  

Sophomore righthander Kevin Brady (Gaithersburg, MD) was a 17th-round draft selection (#518 overall pick) of the Cleveland Indians.  Sophomore lefthander Joseph Moorefield (Woodruff, SC) was a 26th-round draft pick (#786 overall pick) of the Kansas City Royals.

The final 20 rounds (31-50) of the draft will take place on Wednesday.
