Sumter crushes Byrnes 11-0 in opening game

SUMTER(WACH) – Sumter defeated Byrnes 11-0 in Game 1 of the 4A state baseball championship series on Monday night at Sumter High School.

The game ended by mercy rule after only four and a half innings.

Byrnes will try to stay alive at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday at home.

If the Rebels win, they will force a deciding game on Friday night at a neutral field.
