Michael Roth and Peter Mooney led South Carolina to a 9-2 win over Florida Friday night in Gainesville, winning the first game of a huge three-game weekend series.

Roth took a shutout into the 9th inning.  Mooney went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI.

The Gamecocks and Gators play the second game of the series Saturday night at 7pm in Gainesville.
