MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) -- The North fashioned a 16-0 halftime lead thanks to fumbles by the South and cruised to a 23-6 victory in the South Carolina All-Star football game Saturday.
The victory was the fifth-straight for the upper state stars and stretched the North's lead in the series to 34-26-2.
South Pointe's Langdon Ard got the North started with a 37-yard field after the South fumbled at its own 10. It was the first of five lost fumbles by the South and a pass intercepted by Spartanburg's Dequan Brown who dashed 39-yards for a touchdown with 2:48 left in the half.
The South got its only score on an 11-yard pass from North Augusta's Lorenzo Hammonds to Brookland-Cayce's Jonathan Rumph with 5:05 to go in the third period.
