AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Cam Newton's performance hasn't wavered during the pay-for-play allegations, and neither has his smile.

If the scrutiny bothered the Auburn quarterback, he hasn't left it show. He so enjoys playing that he pratcically skips onto the field before games and celebrates exuberantly with fans afterward.

He'll lead the second-ranked Tigers against No. 18 South Carolina Saturday for the Southeastern Conference title at the Georgia Dome and a shot at the national championship.

Newton's performance in the first meeting was his coming-out party nationally.

Auburn's Philip Lutzenkirchen says it's been business as usual for Newton since the payment scheme involving Newton's father began public. Lutzenkirchen says the unfazed Heisman Trophy favorite continues to be "just straight goofball."
