AUBURN (WACH) - The Auburn football team back on the practice field Wednesday still several weeks away from it's SEC Championship game with the Gamecocks.
"Obviously South Carolina is a really good football team," says Auburn Coach Gene Chizik. "Our focus is not there, it will be after this game, but we're solely locked in on the Iron Bowl."
The Tigers will try to wrap up a perfect season when they face Alabama November 27th.
Auburn has been trying to shake off distractions around their quarterback Cam Newton. The NCAA is investigating whether someone representing Newton's family paid a Mississippi State booster to try and get the quarterback to play for the Bulldogs.
The Tigers clinched the SEC's Western Division with a 49-31 win over Georgia November 13th.
"I was really proud of our football team," says the third-year-coach. "Anytime you work that hard to accomplish one of your goals it's huge."
