COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Wofford can get one step closer to returning to the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs with a win Saturday over Samford.

The Terriers have put last year's three-win season far behind them. A win over the Bulldogs keeps them perfect in the league and sets up a showdown next week against Appalachian State for the Southern Conference title.

The Mountaineers have been the class of the SoCon over the past decade, but Wofford has won two league titles in the past seven years.

In Saturday's other games involving FCS teams Furman hosts Western Carolina; The Citadel hosts Elon; South Carolina State hosts Howard; Coastal Carolina travels to VMI; Presbyterian hosts Stony Brook; and Charleston Southern is at Kentucky.
