AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- The Southeastern Conference's two remaining unbeaten teams have been lucky, plucky and just plain good.

Fifth-ranked Auburn and No. 6 LSU enter Saturday's SEC West clash as the league's survivors. They've won their first seven games with gutsy comebacks and playcalling, and even being on the right side of officiating rulings.

Both are defiant about public perception.

LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson says "there's nothing lucky about wins in the SEC." Auburn linebacker Josh Bynes insists his team is "not trying to convince nobody."

Auburn has gotten to this point behind quarterback Cam Newton and three comeback wins. LSU has ridden the SEC's top defense and two nailbiters.

One thing's certain: The league that has produced four straight national champions will only have one remaining unbeaten by dinnertime Saturday.
