TALLAHASSEE, Fla.(AP) -- Next up for the ACC is Ohio State, Oklahoma and Southern California -- more college football powerhouses.

The ACC -- the Almost Competitive Conference -- didn't win its first two matchups against the nation's elite: Virginia Tech lost a thriller Monday against No. 3 Boise State; North Carolina came up short against No. 19 LSU.

Florida State, Miami and Virginia will be on the road Saturday to take on ranked opponents. The Cavaliers travel to No. 16 Southern Cal. The 12th-ranked Hurricanes visit No. 2 Ohio State while No. 17 Florida State is at 10th-ranked Oklahoma.

Meanwhile, other Atlantic Coast Conference teams are taking less treacherous road this weekend, facing lower-division schools like Presbyterian and Kent State.
