COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina's NCAA Tourney hopes took a huge blow Sunday after losing at home to Arkansas 72-68.

The Lady Gamecocks led by as many as 18 points, but could not finish against the Razorbacks who won for only the 3rd time this season in SEC play.  USC had a 14 point lead at intermission and led by 15 with 16:29 left in the game.

South Carolina went 4-13 at the free throw line.  None of those misses hurt more than the one that occurred with 16 seconds left.

USC was nursing a one point lead when Valerie Nainima missed the front end of a one-and-one.  Sarah Watkins converted a lay-up on the other end for the Razorbacks.

South Carolina falls to 13-12, (6-7 SEC).  The Lady Gamecocks are off until this Sunday when they face Kentucky on the road.
