SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Notre Dame has a last-minute win on defense, followed by a last-minute win on offense. So what's next, a last-minute win on special teams?

Coach Charlie Weis said Tuesday he'd rather not have to depend on a game-winning field goal or punt return.

But he says he hopes the wins over Michigan State and Purdue following a last-minute loss against Michigan have provided the Fighting Irish with some valuable lessons.

Weis said quarterback Jimmy Clausen, who missed much of the second half against Purdue with a turf toe injury, is expected to practice full speed this week, as is tailback Armando Allen Jr.

Notre Dame hosts Washington this Saturday.
