AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn running back Eric Smith was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after an incident at an Auburn hotel.

Auburn police Capt. Tom Stofer told the Mobile Press-Register that the 19-year-old sophomore was arrested at 1:42 a.m. Friday and taken to the Lee County Detention Center.

Stofer said no other details of the arrest at the Lexington Hotel were immediately available. He did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

According to the arrest report obtained by the newspaper, Smith was sober and did not resist arrest. Parts of the report were blacked out.

Smith was vying for carries behind starter Ben Tate. He played in 12 games and gained 83 yards last season.
