The SC Pro Am plays every Sunday and Thursday through August 12th at Heathwood Hall.
Columbia (WACH)- Old and new faces hitting the basketball court this summer in Columbia. The inaugural season of the South Carolina Summer Pro Am tipping off at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School and will run through August 12th.
The ten-team league consists of high school, college and professional players across the Carolinas.
"The turn out has been great," commissioner Carey Rich said. "The competition is at a high level and I'm happy with the response the league has received."
Former Gamecocks Devan Downey and Carlos Powell are paired on the same team.
"I'm happy to be playing in the summer league because it's great competition and it's getting me ready for training camp," Downey said.
The league is one of many certified NCAA Summer Leagues across the country.
"We've got a lot of good talent out here," Powell said. "I'm glad we have this opportunity to showcase it."
The league plays every Sunday and Thursday through the second week of August. Games are free to the public.
