COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Perhaps no team in the country needed a week off more than No. 12 South Carolina. Coach Steve Spurrier says after the time away his Gamecocks are refreshed and ready to finish the season in style.

That starts Saturday at home in South Carolina's first game since star tailback Marcus Lattimore's gruesome knee injury. The Gamecocks (7-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) finish league play against up-and-down Arkansas (4-5, 2-3).

Spurrier says Lattimore had successful surgery Friday and is recuperating. The Gamecocks tailback is expected to attend the game and be honored for establishing school records with 41 career touchdowns and 38 rushing scores.

Senior Kenny Miles will start for Lattimore and Spurrier says his players know an at-large BCS berth is possible if they continue winning.
