16 hits powers the Tribe past Clemson

CLEMSON (WACH)- William & Mary racked up 16 hits en route to a 11-2 win to even the series with Clemson at Doug Kingsmore Stadium on Saturday.  It marks the Tribe's first win in five tries against the Tigers.

John Farrell (1-0) threw seven innings allowing just nine hits, two runs and one walk with four strikeouts.  The Tribe pushed across three runs in the third inning and jumped out to an 8-1 lead by the sixth inning.

Shane Kennedy and Jay Baum led the Tigers with two hits a piece, who finished the game with 10 hits, but was not enough to produce runs. 

The rubber match in the series is scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
