CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) -- Clemson senior forward Devin Booker has been suspended for the team's preseason exhibition game for violating team rules.

The school announced the suspension Monday. Tigers coach Brad Brownell also suspended freshman Josh Smith for the contest with Lander.

The Tigers open the regular season against Presbyterian on Nov. 12. Brownell said Booker will be available to play in the season opener.

Booker is one of two Tigers seniors Brownell is counting on to lead the young team. Booker is the younger brother of former Clemson star and current Washington Wizards forward Trevor Booker.

Brownell said Smith would also be able to play in the season's first game.
