USC junior quarterback Connor Shaw is questionable for Saturday's game vs. East Carolina
 /
Derek Phillips
COLUMBIA (WACH)- USC head coach Steve Spurrier says quarterback Connor Shaw could play Saturday in the Gamecocks home opener against East Carolina. The team will monitor how Shaw practices Wednesday and Thursday before making a decision.
Shaw injured his right shoulder in the first half against Vanderbilt and left the game before returning in the second half. Shaw said immediately after the game he would "absolutely" be on the field for ECU, but Spurrier said on his weekly teleconference Sunday that the junior quarterback could "barely lift his right arm."
Shaw was just 7-of-11 passing for 67 yards with no touchdowns and one interception Thursday.
