COLUMBIA (WACH) - The NCAA Columbia Regional Championship between South Carolina and Stetson will resume at 1 p.m. on Monday at Carolina Stadium.

The game between the Gamecocks and the Hatters was stopped at 8:24 p.m. on Sunday due to the threat of severe weather.

A severe thunderstorm hit the Columbia area around 8:30 p.m.

The storm knocked out the power at Carolina Stadium and strong winds damaged the multi-million dollar ballpark.

South Carolina was leading 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning. The Gamecocks had the bases loaded and Robert Beary was at bat.

Gates will open at 11:30 a.m. on Monday and fans will be admitted with their ticket stub from Sunday night's game.
