CLEMSON (WACH)- The Clemson bats came to life in the final three innings as the Tigers closed out William & Mary 12-2 Sunday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium to win the series 2-1.

Jack Leggett's group got off to a slow start only managing one hit through the first five innings, but got it going in the sixth when they pushed across three runs.  12 Tigers had at least one hit.

Scott Firth (1-0) got the win in his first start since 2011.  He pitched a career-long 7.0 innings and allowed just two hits, one run, and one walk with five strikeouts.  Jonathan Meyer closed out the final two innings.

Thomas Brittle, Steve Wilkerson and Garrett Boulware all paced the Tigers' 15 hits with two hits each.

Clemson returns to action next Friday when they host Wright State in a three-game series.  First pitch scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
