South Carolina pitcher Tyler Webb has been named to the 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award Watch List.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - South Carolina pitcher Tyler Webb has been named to the 2013 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award Watch List.
The honor is given to the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I baseball. Webb is one of 75 players named to the watch list.The senior left-hander appeared in 39 games last season, second highest in program history for a single season. Webb went 6-1 with a 1.56 ERA and three saves. He struck out 58 batters in 57.2 innings of work. Opponents hit just .211 against him.
Webb has given up just one earned run in 15 postseason appearances from 2010 to 2012. He has not allowed a run the past three seasons at the College World Series.
The University of South Carolina opens the season Feb. 15 with a three-game series against Liberty at Carolina Stadium.
