TAMPA, FL (WACH)- It's a tale of the two quarterback system for USC and Michigan when the two square off in the Outback Bowl on New Year's Day. Steve Spurrier and Brady Hoke both made it clear who would start for their teams during a press conference Monday morning.

"Connor Shaw has been our starter," Spurrier said. "We all feel he is 100 percent so it's his game, but Dylan (Thompson) is going to play somewhere in there."

Hoke and the Wolverines have a similar situation.

"We're going with how we finished the year," Hoke said. "Devin (Gardner) will be our starting quarterback and Denard (Robinson) will play some quarterback."

The Gamecocks finished out the 2012 regular season winning four straight, including a 27-17 win over Clemson in which Thompson started in place of Shaw. Michigan named Gardner the starter November 3 against Minnesota.
