COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Christ Church scored nine points in an eight-second span of the fourth quarter to take a 27-18 victory over Johnsonville to claim the Class A Division I state championship and cap an unbeaten season.

A snap over the head of the Johnsonville punter gave the Cavaliers (14-0) a safety. Quan White returned the ensuing free kick 51 yards for a touchdown with 3:13 to play, virtually sealing back-to-back state titles for the Cavaliers.

Christ Church led 10-6 at halftime. But Johnsonville (13-1) scored on a 17-yard run by Brison Allison and a 73-yard run by Tushai Edwards to take an 18-10 lead. Christ Church then tied it on a 1-yard touchdown run and two-point conversion.

To reach the championship game, Christ Church defeated C.A. Johnson, St. Joseph's and Ware Shoals.
