Columbia Blowfish off to 3-0 start

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Columbia Blowfish dominated the Thomasville Hitoms 6-1 in Coastal Plain League play Thursday night at Capital City Stadium.  With the win the Blowfish move to 3-0 on the season and remain in first place in the East Division of the CPL.

Starting pitcher Zack Russel-Myers mowed down the HiToms allowing only one hit over six innings while striking out six. Russel-Myers sat down eight HiToms in a row between the second and fifth inning.

The Blowfish blew the game open early scoring three runs in the bottom of the first. Federico Castagnini set the tone for the Blowfish with a lead off single and later scored on a Graham Saiko single.  Castagnini went 2-4 and scored two runs while Saiko 3-3 with two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Blowfish offensive attack.


The Blowfish travel to Gastonia on Friday before returning home to face the Martinsville Mustangs Saturday June 2 at 7:05 p.m. at Historic Capital City Stadium.
