COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- Eleven South Carolina players were drafted this week by Major League Baseball clubs, a third of the roster heading into the NCAA super regional series with Connecticut.

That sounds like a ton of potential distractions as the defending national champs prepare for the chance to return to the College World Series.

The Gamecocks say uh-uh.

Relief pitcher John Taylor says coach Ray Tanner told the club that playing in Omaha, Neb., for a second straight title is a lot more fun that the tiny minor-league town those draftees might be heading to once the season is over.

Several of South Carolina's top players heard their names called during the draft, including star closer Matt Price, second baseman Scott Wingo and ace starting pitcher Michael Roth.
