COLUMBIA (WACH) - The Gamecock baseball team beat Auburn 7-3 on Sunday in front of a sold out crowd at Carolina Stadium.
South Carolina is now 35-8 on the year and 17-4 in the SEC. The Gamecocks have won all 11 conference series they have played.
Freshman right-hander Forrest Koumas earned the win and is 5-0 on the year. He worked five innings, allowing two runs on four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.
Gamecock sophomore right-hander Matt Price threw two scoreless innings to earn his 13th save of the season.
Outfielder Desean Anderson pulled his right hamstring in the second inning of play. He was playing in place of injured outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. Anderson’s condition is unknown.
USC is in a three-way tie for first place in the SEC with Florida and Vanderbilt.
South Carolina returns to action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when they face Wofford.
