MANNING (WACH) -- Manning High School's Defensive Lineman Phillip Dukes has committed to the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.

Dukes made the announcement at Manning High School Tuesday.

He was considering other schools like UNC, Clemson and Alabama.

"I made a real tough decision, but ultimately South Carolina won out," says Dukes.  "I like being around the coaches and the players made me feel at home."

Dukes was a four year starter at defensive tackle and played in the 2010 Shrine Bowl.

He finished his Manning career with 289 tackles and two defensive touchdowns.
