Columbia, S.C. - USC baseball coach Ray Tanner has dismissed pitcher Ethan Carter from the baseball team for a violation of team rules. There will be no further comment from Coach Tanner.
Carter, a sophomore right-hander from Newport News, Virginia, appeared in 24 games in 2010 compiling a 3-0 record with two saves and a 5.46 ERA. He struck out 30 batters in 28 innings.
Carter was the 2009 Gatorade Virginia baseball player of the year and was named a 2009 Louisville Slugger High School All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
